Admissions for Intimacy Professionals for Theatre & Cinema CertificationPrerequisites
Prerequisite for admission into the
Intimacy Professionals for Theatre & Cinema certification program is an undergraduate degree, 3-5 years of experience (preferred), along with completion of the
Foundations in Intimacy Direction professional development courses,
or a statement of progress and demonstration of comparable competencies through interview evaluation and documentation in the following areas:
- Mental Health First Aid
- Anti-racism/EDI training
- Allyship and Advocacy
- Gender identity and Sexual Orientation training
- Anti-harassment/Anti-sexual harassment training
- Mediation of Conflict Resolution training
- Production in Intimacy Direction or Intimacy Coordination
- Choreography Skills for Intimacy Directors/Intimacy Coordinators
- Movement Foundations

Required Application Materials
The first step is to complete the online application. As part of this application, you will be asked to complete a 500-word statement of interest and progress, a photograph, and upload a copy of your resume. The application fee ($30) is paid by debit/credit card when submitting the online application.
As part of the application you will be asked to complete a 500-word statement of interest and progress that oulines:
1. Your career goals and how the Intimacy Professional for Theatre & Cinema (IPTC) Certification program will help you to achieve those goals.
2. Progress in three or more of the following areas:
· Mental Health First Aid
· Anti-racism/DIE + B training
· Allyship and Advocacy
· Gender identity and Sexual Orientation training
· Anti-harassment/Anti-sexual harassment training
· Mediation of Conflict Resolution training
· Choreography Skills for Intimacy Directors/Intimacy Coordinators
· Movement Foundations
A photograph is required for identification purposes and will be uploaded as part of the online application. Any photograph is acceptable provided it looks like you. A professional headshot is not required.
Request two letters of recommendation from individuals who are familiar with your work and desire to attend The Theatre School. You can electronically request a letter from a recommender through the online application by providing their information on the recommender page, or you may simply have our recommender email their letter to theatreadmissions@depaul.edu
Please request an official copy of your college transcripts be sent to The Theatre School Admissions Office. Official transcripts must be sent direclty from the school's registrar either in electronic or hard copy format. We strongly perfer to receive electronic/emailed transcripts (sent to theatreadmissions@depaul.edu) over mailed copies. Mailed copies should be in a sealed envelope and sent to: The Theatre School, Attn: Theatre Admissions Office, 2350 North Racine Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614.

If you are a non-native English speaker who has not completed a bachelor's or master's degree in the United States, you will need to submit test scores from an English proficiency exam. Visit our international admission page for more information.
