Foundations in Intimacy Direction/Coordination

​​​​​The following non-credit bearing courses fulfill the prerequisites for Intimacy Professionals for Theatre & Cinema (IPTC) Certification and is also available to those seeking professional development. ​

The foundation courses program includes 18 hours of instruction and are open to students and educators including all professions working in close proximity to others: health care professionals, first responders, therapists, social workers, managers, executives, and entrepreneurs. Students must be 18 years of age or older. This is a prerequisite for the IPTC credit-bearing certification program

No, you will not be certified by completing the 3-day foundational courses for professional development. However, the foundational courses fulfill the prerequisites for admission to the 24 credit hour IPTC graduate certificate program which provides certification.

All courses are in person and held at The Theatre School at DePaul University, 2350 North Racine Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60614 (Lincoln Park Campus).

Foundations in Intimacy Direction is a 3-day program that costs $1,150. That cost is inclusive of all materials and fees and includes breakfast and lunch daily. A deposit of 50% is due at the time of registration to secure a spot with the remaining 50% due one-week prior to the program start date.  The full amount can also be paid at the time of registration.

Registrations and payments are final. We are not responsible for losses on account of any conditions, actions or omissions that are beyond reasonable control, but we will issue course refunds in the event of a course cancellation.  If you are traveling from outside the Chicago area to attend the program, travel insurance is strongly recommended.
