Overview
The Certificate in Theatrical and Cinematic Intimacy (CTCI) program trains Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (ID's and IC's) to work in theatre, film, and television. This is the first university-led training program of its kind.
The Theatre School is working in partnership with the prestigious professional organization
Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC) to both develop our curriculum and provide qualified instructors for the onset of this program.
Training will include tools for best practices in consent-based rehearsals, impactful and repeatable choreographic techniques, text analysis, collaboration, self-reflection on implicit bias and power dynamics, social awareness, cultural competency, effective communication, bystander intervention and de-escalation, mental health first aid, and more.
The CTCI program will begin Fall '23. Pre-requisite training for the CTCI program begins with DePaul's Consent and Cultural Awareness Certification. CCAC will be offered beginning in Fall '22.

Admissions Process
Pre requisite for admission into the CTCI program is completion of DePauls Consent and Cultural Awareness Certificate or completion of IDC's Level One and Level Two online training, as well as submitting a short statement of progress in the following areas.
○ Mental Health First Aid, Trauma Stewardship, or related training
○ Anti-racism/EDI training
○ Allyship and Advocacy
○ Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation training
○ Anti-harassment/ Anti-sexual harassment training
○ Mediation or Conflict Resolution training
○ Bystander Intervention
Financial Aid will be available for those interested in the Intimacy Direction / Coordination specialized training in segments two and three.
Scholarships will be available for all segments of training.
