Kumari currently serves as the Business Operations Manager for The Theatre School at DePaul University. Prior to working at The Theatre School, Kumari served as the Senior Administrative Assistant and Budget & Operations Manager for DePaul University's Undergraduate Admissions office. Prior to Undergraduate Admissions, Kumari served as Administrative Assistant/CAEA Coordinator in DePaul’s School for New Learning (now the School for Continuing and Professional Studies). She also currently serves on Staff Council and is part of the DePaul Women’s Network.
Kumari has a Masters of Education from DePaul University and Bachelors of Science in African American History and Speech Communication from Portland State University in Oregon (including a study abroad immersion at the University of Ghana in Accra, Ghana).
Originally from Oregon, this year Kumari hit ten years in Chicago. During her time as a student at DePaul she was so inspired by the community she found that she ended up pursuing fulltime employment at the university. When not working, Kumari enjoys running races, attending concerts and sporting events (and theatre!), but has a real passion for traveling, especially trips abroad. Some of her favorite places visited include Ireland, Greece and Belize. Her personal goal is to visit all seven continents – and has already crossed four off the list! She also enjoys spending time with her son, boyfriend, and dog, as well as watching movies and cooking.
