Cloud Nine

by Caryl Churchill
directed by Lisa Portes

In this constantly shifting, time-defying play - a popular and critical success when it premiered in 1979 - British playwright Churchill highlights colonial and gender oppression. From Victorian-ruled Africa in act one to contemporary London in act two with most of the same characters, the play explores gender and sexuality from the 1880’s to the 21st century.

Recommended for mature audiences.
