Vero Maynez

MFA Acting

Vero is a q​ueer, Mexican-American actor, director, and yoga instructor hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area. While in the Bay, Vero appeared in the world premieres of Cherríe Moraga's The Mathematics of Love (Brava Theatre) and Chris Chen's Aulis (UC Berkeley), as well as the Bay Area premiere of The Christians (SF Playhouse). She recently performed in the U.S. premiere of Robert Icke's Oresteia at DePaul University. Additional Theatre School credits include Twelfth Night (Viola), Water by the Spoonful (Yaz), and Luchadora! (Nana Lupita). As an actor-activist, Vero has also performed in The Carnaval of New Latinx Work, Berkeley Repertory Theatre's Breaking the Binary, and Bechdel Fest — a part of Steppenwolf's LookOut series. Vero holds a BA in Theater & Performance Studies and minor in Spanish from UC Berkeley, and has additional training from American Conservatory Theater.
