Derek Spaldo

MFA Acting

Derek​ is an actor and musician from Rutherford, New Jersey. Derek earned his BA in Theatre at Eugene Lang College, The New School for Liberal Arts in New York City. He has worked with artists in the New York downtown theatre scene including Richard Maxwell/New York City Players, Paul Lazar, Christina Masciotti, and Zishan Ugurlu at spaces such as Abrons Art Center, The Brick, The Bushwick Starr, The Chocolate Factory, Dixon Place, and La MaMa. The Theatre School credits include Our Lady of Kibeho (Father Flavia), Jeff and the Dead Girl (George/Buster), Water by the Spoonful (Fountainhead), and Henry VI, Part 3 (York/Clarence). A multi-instrumentalist, Derek sings and plays guitar in the band Garcia Peoples.
