How do I get to The Theatre School?

The Theatre School is located at the corner of Fullerton and Racine in DePaul's Lincoln Park Campus. ​

From the North and Northwest

From the Kennedy Expressway (I90/I94) exit at Fullerton Avenue and turn left (East). DePaul’s Lincoln Park campus is approximately two miles from the expressway. One big block past N. Lakewood, turn right on Racine. The Theatre School Building is located in the southwest corner of the Fullerton/Racine intersection.

From the West

From the Eisenhower Expressway (I290), turn onto the Kennedy Expressway (I90/I94) heading toward Wisconsin. From the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/I-94) exit at Fullerton Avenue and turn right (East). One big block past N. Lakewood, turn right on Racine. The Theatre School Building is located in the southwest corner of the Fullerton/Racine intersection.

From the South

From the Dan Ryan Expressway (I90/I94) continue as the expressway becomes the Kennedy Expressway (I90/I94). Exit at Fullerton Avenue and turn right (East). One big block past N. Lakewood, turn right on Racine. The Theatre School building is located in the southwest corner of the Fullerton/Racine intersection.

From Lake Shore Drive (North or South)

Exit Lake Shore Drive at Fullerton Avenue. Head west for approximately three miles. Turn left at Racine (one block past Clifton). The Theatre School building is located in the southwest corner of the Fullerton/Racine intersection.

It is recommended that visitors to The Theatre School park in the Clifton Parking Deck, 2330 N. Clifton Avenue. The DePaul rates are $12.50 before 4 p.m., $9.50 on weekends, and after 4 p.m. Anyone not using a DePaul ID or voucher/validation stamp will be charged $16.50 per 12 hours. A parking validation machine is located at the first floor box office in The Theatre School.

Exit at Fullerton, walk west on Fullerton to Racine Avenue (past Kenmore Ave, the quad, and Clifton), then turn left on Racine.


How do I get to DePaul’s historic Merle Reskin Theatre?

Our theatre is located at 60 E. Balbo Drive , Chicago, IL 60605.

From the North and Northwest

From the Kennedy Expressway (I90/I94) exit at Jackson Boulevard and turn left (East). DePaul’s Loop campus is approximately one mile from the expressway. Turn right on Wabash Avenue and travel south to Balbo Drive, then turn left on Balbo Drive. The theatre will be on your left – look for the marquee!

From the West

From the Eisenhower Expressway (I290), continue toward downtown. As you approach the downtown area, the expressway becomes Congress Parkway. Turn right on Wabash Avenue and travel south to Balbo Drive, then turn left on Balbo Drive. The theatre will be on your left – look for the electronic marquee!

From the South

From the Dan Ryan Expressway (I90/I94) exit at Jackson Boulevard and turn right (East). DePaul’s Loop campus is approximately one mile from the expressway. Turn right on Wabash Avenue and travel south to Balbo Drive, then turn left on Balbo Drive. The theatre will be on your left – look for the electronic marquee!

From Lake Shore Drive (North or South):

Exit Lake Shore Drive at Balbo Drive and turn west toward downtown. Proceed two blocks and then cross Michigan Avenue. The theatre will be on your right — look for the electronic marquee!

Multi Park (Surface Lot). 635 S. Wabash at Balbo. Free parking up to two hours before a Chicago Playworks or DePaul Opera performance. Visit the Box Office to receive a parking voucher and place it on the dash inside your vehicle. Free parking ends five hours after scheduled event start time. 

LAZ Parking (Garage). One East 8th Street at State. Pay as you exit using cash or a credit card or reserve parking before your visit.

CPS Parking (Surface Lot). 651 South State Street, 2.5 blocks from the theatre. Please note that CPS Parking is not affiliated with DePaul University. Parking rates will be posted on-site.

People's Auto Parking (Surface Lot). 9 East Balbo Drive, 1.5 blocks from the theatre. Please note that People's Auto Parking is not affiliated with DePaul University. Parking rates will be posted on-site.

via CTA Red Line: Exit at Jackson or Harrison, walk south on State Street to Balbo Drive, then turn left and walk east on Balbo. You will see the theatre ahead of you, across Wabash Avenue on your left – look for the electronic marquee!

via CTA Brown, Orange, Green, Pink and Purple lines: Exit at Adams/Wabash, walk south to Balbo Drive, then turn left and walk east on Balbo. You will see the theatre just ahead of you on the left – look for the electronic marquee!

via CTA Blue Line: Exit at Dearborn/Monroe. Walk south to Harrison Street, and turn left to Wabash Avenue. Walk south to Balbo Drive, then turn left and walk east on Balbo. You will see the theatre just ahead of you on the left – look for the electronic marquee!

The theatre is also close to stops on numerous bus lines, including the #29-State, #3-King Drive and #146-Michigan/Museums.
