At age 13, Alexandra Appleton is certain she's a poet. Her life spirals out of control when her younger sister, Dot, passes her in the race to womanhood. After a psychedelic trip, Alex struggles to distinguish fantasy from reality. Are the adults in Alex's life out to get her? Is her poetry teacher more than just a friendly mentor? And most importantly, will Alex's body catch up with her brains?​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The cast features

Talia Payomo (Alex), Nikhaar Kishnani (Dot), Jolie Lepselter (Plum), Michael Cohen (Johnny), Ayanna Bria Bakari (Mother), and Jack Disselhorst (Willard).

The production team includes scenic design by Angela McIlvain, costume design by Courtney Rebecca Schum, lighting design by James Mitchell, sound design by Alyssa Kerr, dramaturgy by Kaysie Bekkela, and stage management by Mario E. Wolfe.

Audio Description Services:

The performance of The Women Eat Chocolate on 5/28 will include a live audio-description of the visual and physical events on-stage for patrons who are blind or have low-vision. We also invite you to join us that day for a pre-performance program with a touch tour, in the school's main lobby. The touch tour program will include information about the characters and design choices that add to the world of the play. Patrons who are participating in the audio-described event may also request the playbill in Braille, large print, and audio formats.
