The Intimacy Professionals for Theatre & Cinema (IPTC) Certification program is billed at $540 per credit hour. The cost of the full 24 credit hour program is $12,960.

Tuition is billed each quarter based on the number of credit hours in which you are enrolled. For instance, in the first quarter of the program you would typically be enrolled in PRF 501 (2 credit hours) and PRF 601 (2 credit hours) for a total of $2,160 billed that quarter.

Students admitted to the Intimacy Professionals for Theatre & Cinema (IPTC) Certification program can be awarded a Theatre School Scholarship. There is no separate application for scholarship consideration. Applicants will be evaluated for scholarship as part of the admissions evaluation and any scholarship would be communicated as part of the admissions decision. If awarded, scholarships typically range between $1,000 to $4,000 for the full 24 credit hour program.

To be considered for a need-based financial aid package, applicants must submit a valid Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is the only application required for need-based financial aid and is not required for consideration for the Theatre School Scholarship. Typically, need-based aid for graduate students is in the form of federal student loans.  The Federal Graduate PLUS loan​ is available students enrolled in the Intimacy Professionals for Theatre & Cinema (IPTC) Certification program.  ​​

The FAFSA becomes available starting on October 1 each year and can either be submitted online at studentaid.gov. To have your FAFSA results reported to The Theatre School, enter DePaul University's FAFSA code, 001671, in the college section.

ID, IC, and intimacy professionals ensure scenes with simulated sex, simulated assault, simulated nudity, and hyper-exposed content are consensual and performed with clear communication, boundaries, and care.

The 3-day foundational non-credit bearing courses are best suited for those working in close proximity to others. The courses fulfill the prerequisites for admission to the graduate certificate program of IPTC and serve as professional development.

The IPTC graduate certificate courses are best suited for those seeking positions as a certified ID, IC or Intimacy Professional for television, film, and live performances.

No, you will not be certified by completing the 3-day foundational courses for professional development. The foundational courses fulfill the prerequisites for admission to the 24 credit hour IPTC graduate certificate program which provides certification.

The certification courses are 24 total credit hours. It is designed to be completed in three quarters (30 weeks).  However, how long it will take to complete the program is up to you. The program is designed with flexibility for working professionals. If you need to step away during instruction you can return anytime within 3 years and resume courses as usual. After 3 years of non-enrollment you would need to reapply for admission.

Books and materials are included in the cost of the program.

Yes, a practicum is included in the curriculum. Under supervision, you will have an opportunity to apply the classroom knowledge learned in productions within The Theatre School and/or films withing DePaul's School of Cinematic Arts.
