Admissions Timeline
The application process begins in the fall of the year before you would enroll, and the application typically opens in August. All required application materials must be received by the application deadline in order for you to be considered for admission. Decisions are typically released in late March/early April.

How to Apply
Theatre School applicants begin by completing DePaul University's graduate, degree-seeking application online. Please be aware that we admit students for fall entrance only, and listing any other entry term will result in Theatre School programs failing to appear as program options. Once you submit your online application and pay the application fee, you can log back into the application portal to check the status of your application materials.

Auditions & Interviews
A video prescreen and callback audition (MFA Acting) or finalist interview (MFA Arts Leadership) is required for admission to The Theatre School. Finalist interviews are by invitation only, after a thorough review of the student's completed application.

resume and photograph will be uploaded as part of your online application.
Letters of recommendation, English proficiency exam scores (required of most international applicants), and official transcripts must be sent to our office directly by the person/institution that issued them, not the applicant. While we prefer to receive emailed/electronic copies sent to

Students who were educated outside of the U.S. will need to send their official transcripts to one of the approved transcript evaluation companied listed on
this page; a transcript evaluation will be sent to us by the evaluation company once the evaluation is complete. Please submit your transcripts early to ensure the evaluation can be completed and sent to us before our application deadline.
