JARED BELLOT (He/Him) is a Chicago based educator, facilitator and theatre artist whose interests lie at the intersection of storytelling, language and community. A fierce advocate of arts education, Jared has served in various artistic, educational and leadership positions at schools and cultural institutions of various sizes. Jared spent time as a public school English teacher working with students in Fall River, MA, and at Steppenwolf Theatre, where, for five years, he oversaw teen programs, worked to foster relationships with youth empowerment organizations throughout Chicago, and managed Steppenwolf’s In School Residency program, reaching over 20,000 students annually.
Currently, Jared serves at Manager of Culture and Access at Marwen where he focuses on empowering young people through the visual arts. As a freelance dramaturg and theatre artist, Jared has worked at theaters across Chicago including Definition Theatre (where he serves as Associate Artistic Director),Timeline Theatre (where he is an Associate Artist),and Jackalope Theatre (where he is a company member), as well as Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Victory Gardens Theatre, The Yard, Pride Films and Plays, Stage Left Theatre and Porchlight Music Theatre. Jared received his AB in Theatre Arts and American Studies from Brown University in 2012.
