Deanna Aliosius

After receiving her undergraduate degree in Fashion Design, Deanna traveled around the country with Ebony Fashion Fair. She received her MFA in Costume Production from Boston University. While living in New York City, she was the patternmaker and costume shop manager for Blue Man Group. She worked as a professional draper for many organizations, including Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Glimmerglass Opera, Hartford Stage, Huntington Theatre, Santa Fe Opera, Washington Opera and Williamstown Theatre Festival.

Deanna first began working in academia at DePaul's Barat Campus Theatre Arts Department. She worked as an over-hire draper at The Theatre School and was adjunct faculty prior to becoming the Costume Shop Manager/Draper February 2009 - August 2011. Locally she works as a freelance draper for The Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Steppenwolf. She is married and has two daughters, Samantha (6) and Kaitlyn (3).
